A long narrow kitchen, with cabinets without special features, resulting in a low percentage of usable storage. The homeowners, both tall, struggled with lower cabinet access, further reducing the efficiency of the kitchen. The generic appliances and fixtures were frustrating both gourmet cooks.
Drawer stacks and pull-outs that replaced lower cabinets restore access to the lower half of the kitchen. Upper cabinets, retrofitted with special features unique to their use, further add intelligent storage to the space. Ergonomic hardware pulls aid opening and closing. A chef’s faucet, a large 6-burner gas range, and extra-deep sinks were installed to allow for greater creativity in the kitchen. Boutique granite, artwork in itself, gives balance to the drama of color, with the old granite finding another home in a new project. |
